For medical problems I always recommend to consult a doctor or physiotherapist first. Some issues I can take into account in class. When you have an injury, please inform the yoga teacher before the class starts. In these circumstances you should not do certain poses like twistings, intensive back bends or inverted poses. You will be given alternative poses to do. You can practice yoga daily. The more you practice, the more you reap the benefits of it. Is particularly important to make realistic intentions. Once a week is a good start and then gradually increasing the number of days. A good way to start is to experience what it feels like for a morning exercise. If you cannot wait for the next lesson, do not hesitate to start practicing at home. The lessons are in Dutch and English. The names of the yoga postures are given in Sanskrit. Comparing your own development in yoga with others is very human. However, yoga is not a competition. It is not about achieving the perfect posture although you do your utmost to improve your ability. Focus on your own performance and opportunities. Don’t shy away from challenges. Your practice of yoga is very personal. All the props you need, are available in the studio. If you wish, you can bring your own yoga mat. Wear clothes that are suitable and comfortable, remove your jewellery or watches for safety. Yoga exercises are done barefoot. A yoga class lasts one and a half hours. Each posture is clearly explained and demonstrated. The teacher guides you and helps you to understand the poses well. Over time instructions and yoga postures will become familiar to you. Soon you will start to experience the effects of yoga on your body and mind.I EXERCISE REGULARLY AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT. IS YOGA FOR ME?
